Brian on the Issues
I believe at this time in our state's history it is crucial that those who are called to serve must do so. Those who know me from educational and law enforcement circles, my work in homeland security, and leadership and community boards and organizations, can tell you I am committed to this state's standing as a place where families, businesses and organizations should be able to flourish. The key points of my campaign grew directly out of that commitment:
- Create New Jobs by Encouraging Entrepreneurship and Empowering Business Owners
- Lower Tax Burden on Families and Businesses
- Protect Our Conservative Family Values Including the Right to Life
- Provide Proven, Strong, Honest Leadership
LOWER TAXES, SMALLER GOVERNMENT LEADS TO JOBS
Reducing taxes and over-regulation will foster a climate that encourages business retention and growth. Creating a positive business climate is ultimately the path to job creation and a stronger Wisconsin economy. You can count on me to never vote for a tax increase.
REDUCE SPENDING/DEFICITS
Curbing spending is vital in controling the state's ballooning deficit. Cutting spending is never easy, but just as with our personal budgets, the state can't continue to spend more than its revenue sources without eventual dire consequences.
EDUCATION
Ensuring that the 33rd District continues its tradition of academic excellence in its K-12 districts and public higher education will be a priority to ensure a bright future for our children. Parents should also be supported if they choose charter schools, virtual schools, home schooling or other options.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Keeping communities safe – from domestic violence to sexual predators to child abuse to cyber crimes and other forms of crime and violence – is something I have passionately pursued throughout my professional life. I will continue to find new ways to keep our communities safe through appropriate legislation.
RIGHT TO LIFE
Defending life, from conception through end life, is a plege that has earned me the support of Wisconsin Right to Life and the ProLife Wisconsin Victory Fund.
GUN RIGHTS
Supporting the Second Ammendment translates to allowing citizens to carry a concealed weapon for lawful purposes. Wisconsin needs to join the 48 other states in allowing this practice. In the vast majority of states that allow concealed weapons, crime has decreased significantly.
COMMON SENSE
Listening to the residents and business owners of the 33rd and pro-actively asking for their input on issues will help me determine common sense legislation that reflects the values of our community.
